I found inspiration for this painting while listening to the Miles Davis' song "Sketches of Spain." The black, red and white squares represent the dark history of Spain - The inquisition and Franco's Era. The gold and silver drippings represent the gold and silver metals that were looted from the Americas by the Spanish conquistadores. The yellow square on the upper right corner represents a call for peace and to come home to this beautiful country.
